Good afternoon class, today I will be talking about how Nike and the Jordan Brand has increased their prices on shoes.
In 2012 a Jordan shoe called White Cement 4 came out with a limited amount. The retail prcie was $160.
As you can see this shoe has the Joran "Jumpman" logo on the back heel tab.
On February 13, 2016 the same shoe was released but was retailed at $220!
As you can see the only diffrence with this shoe is that it has a Nike Air logo on the heel tab.
The price jumped up $60! Nike and Jordan are increasing the price on there newer releases because they are producing more shoes, which means people are able to buy the shoe without it selling out so fast. Also the Nike Air tab hasn't been on this shoe since it's release in 1999, but the 2016 release is suppose to be a replica of when this shoe first originally came out in 1989.
Nike and Jordan are increasing the price but are increasing the amount of shoes being produced. It's a win/lose situation, but any sneakerhead would gladly pay the price if it means they don't have to wait in line or camp outside for it.

The Sneaker World "Lingo"
Hello class, today I'll be going through a run down on the phrases that are commonly used in the sneaker community.
Lets start off with one of the most heard phrases, SneakerHead.
A SneakerHead is a person who buys sneakers because they like the sneaker, they want to resell the shoe, they like the significance of the shoe, or because they like to collect them. A sneakerhead isn't someone who just buys Jordan's, it can be any shoe.
Next is Deadstock, or DS for short.
For a shoe to be DS, the shoe must be the way it is when you first bought it. That means original knot, tissue paper, card board, shoe box and they have never been worn, or even tried on.
Up next is Very Near Deadstock, or VNDS for short.
For a shoe to be VNDS, the shoe can have only been worn lightly 1-4 times. Slight creasing is acceptable, but the shoe can NOT have scuffs or dirt marks.
Lastly, we have Legit Check, or LC for short
Legit Check is what it sounds like. When you're not sure if a shoe is authentic or not, you ask for a LC. Other "sneakerheads" will point you in the right direction by letting you know if the shoe is authentic or fake.
Well there you go, these are some phrases that are used in the sneaker community and it keeps growing. Till next time!

Introduction To My Blog
Hello class, my name is Douglas Bardales and this is my blog about the sneaker world. Twice a week I will be talking about the new Jordan releases, the significance on a certain shoe, shoe prices and how they've gone up over time, my own personal collection, and how the term "sneakerhead" has become an everyday word for some. Most people only see sneakers as something you wear on your feet, but there is much more to it than that.
